Job Description

Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer with our Corporate Office.

Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc. was originally founded in December of 2000 to serve the San Diego area mortgage market. Due to our growth and success, we now have branches throughout the United States and we are continuing to grow and expand in anticipation of market demands. Plaza is privately owned and operates as a full-service Mortgage Banker.

Plaza’s mission is to become the premier provider of mortgage loans by developing a distinct, sustainable competitive advantage through superior execution of a business philosophy that combines knowledge, technology, and service. Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc. is dedicated to building long-term relationships with both customers and employees through quality training, and excellent customer support.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for designing, developing and producing graphic and digital design, to support marketing and sales objectives, for both internal Plaza Associate and external client and prospect audiences.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive.  The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.

An Overview of the Role:

Plaza is taking its marketing to the next level and we are looking for the right person to help make it happen. This is an opportunity to be a part of a transformation. To help shape the company’s marketing programs and elevate our brand within the industry.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in both print and digital media and can take direction from written or verbal ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts, videos, emails, newsletters, social media, website content, printed collateral and other designs. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of how marketing campaigns work, especially in the Business to Business (B2B) sector, to support our internal and external clients. This role is very fast-paced and high-energy – and we’re not just saying that. You have to love being busy…and be able to manage and meet multiple deadlines without sacrificing the quality of your work.

Being able to understand and meet objectives, and a passion for getting results – having these attributes will ensure you shine and are recognized for your contribution to the team and company goals.

Good judgement, attention to detail, the ability to rationalize/prioritize and a great attitude are also necessary to succeed and excel in this role.  Having a background in mortgage, financial services or the real estate industry will help you to ramp-up quickly and be more effective in the position. We prefer the background, but it’s not a requirement if you are an eager and quick learner.

Some examples of the daily projects you’d be working on:
  • Creating or curating imagery and/or HTML for client-facing marketing emails, weekly newsletters, printed collateral, etc.
  • Creating imagery for B2B social media posts and campaigns
  • Updating the corporate website design and imagery, blog posts, new collateral, product updates, events, etc.
  • Updating and creating visuals for the internal website, Plaza’s intranet
  • Producing or helping to produce and edit product, corporate, internal and sales videos and/or motion graphics, as well as leadership communications
  • Coordinating with other teams and business units (i.e. Sales, Client Training, others) on the production of marketing and communications assets
  • And there’s plenty more…
