Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has a full-time opportunity for a Sales Associate with our National Correspondent Channel. This is a remote opportunity in the Southern California region.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

The Sales Associate is responsible for developing client relationships by demonstrating expertise in all aspects of correspondent lending’s policies and procedures. This position will co-manage the territory with the Regional Sales Manager to maximize regional goals and keep the division economically sound.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  1. Successfully develop, manage, and close qualified correspondent business partner leads in the assigned region.
  2. Support client on-boarding efforts as requested.
  3. Network with other industry professionals to develop new client leads.
  4. Utilize the company’s CRM for recording and tracking relevant client information.
  5. Provide assistance to the Regional Sales Mgr. with day-to-day activities in order to maximize sales production levels, including support of business development activities and programs.
  6. Identify client performance improvement opportunities.
  7. Maintain knowledge of products and services, as well as knowledge of the industry. Keeps abreast of current developments and market trends, to further identify and service the clients’ needs.
  8. Utilizes Plaza Home Mortgage training materials, reference tools and other resources to provide accurate and up-to-date loan program/policy information to both external customers and internal business partners.
  9. Builds relationships with key decision makers and serves as the internal support liaison and point of contact with correspondent business partners.
  10. Responsible for defining, creating, and managing PHM sales reporting.
New Business Development

Develop Business Referral Network through marketing, cold-calling, prospecting and networking activities.
 
Professional Development

Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Attend and complete all Plaza Home Mortgage required training.


Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three years of residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business. Correspondent experience preferred.
  • Lock desk experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a fast-paced fluid environment.
  • Ability to manage several client relationships while meeting production standards.
  • Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
