Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has an opportunity for a full-time Purchase Review Coordinator with our National Correspondent Channel in San Diego, California.

This position will review and facilitate the purchase of loans through the Correspondent business channel. 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  1. Manage and maintain pipeline of loans ranging from pre-certified bulks, certified and uncertified loan reviews.
  2. Monitor pipeline to ensure loans are moving to purchase in a timely manner.
  3. Review final conditions at the time of purchase to confirm they’ve been appropriately cleared by the vendor.
  4. Complete data entry in LAS to ensure servicing data is accurate prior to purchase of loans.
  5. Perform immediate limited vendor review once their initial review has been completed and prior to purchase.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to correspondent clients, sales staff and outsource vendors.
  7. Serves as escalation point for addressing issues and communicating directly with Correspondents and outsource vendors as needed.
  8. Coordinate with Underwriters on conditions they may need to review or escalations pertaining to underwriting.
  9. Coordinate final purchase with Accounting and generate purchase advice.
  10. Work with Post Closing Department and Shipping Department to assist in investor suspense conditions as delegated by manager.
  11. Confirm loan will be purchased by commitment date or refer to manager for negotiation.
  12. Prioritize file review as directed by management according to demands and needs.
  13. Independent management of assigned pipeline.
  14. Written and verbal communication of outstanding conditions to affect the purchase of the loans.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A high school degree or equivalent with current knowledge of the mortgage banking industry and a minimum of two years experience funding government and conventional loans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work, the ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a high paced environment with a heavy volume of transactions.
  • A solid commitment to customer and employee service, outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and incumbent must possess the ability to work in both a team and individual environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and knowledge of internet browsers.
  • Be able to use independent judgment skills to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures, have doc prep and compliance experience, and be willing to work overtime hours as needed.
