The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing prompt and accurate responses to both internal and external customer’s mortgage servicing questions, inquiries and concerns, received by telephone and email. In addition, the Loan Servicing Specialist will communicate regularly with Plaza’s sub-servicer to resolve boarding and loan level issues, as well as provide approval/guidance on Loss Mitigation activity.
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company. Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  1. FHA 203K servicing to include: welcome calls, follow-up on outstanding work, disbursement of 203K funds, ordering mechanic lien, final disbursements, and close out in FHA Connect.
  2. Properly documenting loan specific activity in servicing system.
  3. Follow-up and research to resolve loan level issues.
  4. Process incoming mail, handle payments in the LOS system and balance and make bank deposits as necessary.
  5. Responsible for timely, accurate transmission of loans to the appropriate sub-servicer, including data transmission, balancing, escrow transfers, transfer of images, tracking and follow-up within LOS system.
  6. Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer mortgage assets.
  7. Forward payments to investors and sub-servicer as required.Perform loan level servicing audits.
  8. Generate reports using Crystal.
  9. Perform various system uploads and downloads.Other duties as assigned.           

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience with telephone exposure is essential
  • Current knowledge of mortgage servicing 
  • Loan Auditing experience a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work
  • The capability of managing time, multi-tasking, and prioritizing work in fast-paced environment with heavy volume of transactions as well as be able to meet and handle deadlines
  • Solid commitment to customer and associate service
  • Exceptional phone etiquette
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven aptitude to work in both a team and individual environment
