PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

This position ensures that loan collateral is cleared in a timely manner prior to purchasing a loan.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive.  The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
 
  1. Serve as a liaison between corporate shipping, sales support, and the client.
  2. Take ownership for the collateral follow up to ensure collateral is cleared in a timely manner.
  3. Proactively manage the collateral pipeline through available reporting.
  4. Identify collateral issues as it pertains to the original note, bailee, security instrument, and allonge.
  5. Resolve collateral issues with the appropriate person/team, i.e. shipping, client etc.
  6. Track all deficiency follow up.
  7. Resolve and clear collateral exceptions.
  8. Ability to respond to questions regarding all phases of the correspondent loan process.
  9. Assists Set-Up and performs Jr. Underwriter tasks as assigned.
  10. Identifies and reports on trends.
  11. Updates key stakeholders on pending issues delaying the collateral being cleared.  Keeps record by updating notes in the system.


Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position requires a high school degree or equivalent.  A college degree is preferred.  
  • Two or more years of related experience in credit or loan processing preferred.
  • This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work, the ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a high paced environment with heavy volume of transactions.
  • Additional qualifications required include a solid commitment to customer and employee service, outstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Incumbent must possess the ability to work in both a team and individual environment.
  • Position also requires proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), knowledge of internet browsers, and basic knowledge of loan origination systems such as Caylx Point, Ellie Mae, and other mortgage-related vendors are required.
  • Incumbent must have the ability to monitor and oversee loan collateral pipelines.
