PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

The AVP of Wholesale Lending Operations will identify best practices, recommending changes and monitoring adherence by developing and maintaining strategic plans that support Plaza goals. This position will act as a liaison between the Corporate Office and the Branch network and provide information and guidance on company philosophy, policies, and procedures. Leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training are the qualities necessary to establish and promote the quality culture of the organization.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  • Work with Regional Operations Managers to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Manage functional oversight of corporate operations support team.
  • Participate in the development of operating plans to enhance business growth.
  • Act as liaison between branches and corporate office.
  • Utilize knowledge of mortgage industry, real estate market trends, Plaza risk philosophy, and relevant loan performance data.
  • Participate with other departments in designing, developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Plaza initiatives, policies, and procedures with expertise.
  • Work closely with the Risk Management Team to evaluate performance and organization trends and recommend changes ensuring the quality and profitability of Plaza.
  • Monitor systems and procedures for tracking, filing, and monitoring the progress of loan packages to ensure that quality loans are produced with sufficient documentation to enable rapid turnaround.
  • Monitor pipeline and other reports.
  • Oversee development of training modules that support branch employees in all processing and closing procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new company-wide technical systems.
  • Create, initiate, and follow-up on internal control procedures.
  • Research and discuss cases questioned by quality assurance, compliance, and accounting department.


Job Requirements
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations and FNMA/FHLMC and investor underwriting guidelines.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving and leadership skills are essential, as well as the ability to be detail oriented, self-motivated and possess the ability to motivate and train others in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) programs.
  • College degree in related field or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • 10 -15 years in the mortgage banking industry including experience in underwriting, processing, and closing.
  • 8-10 years supervisory/management experience.
