PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

The AR/AP Specialist is primarily responsible for performing assigned Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable responsibilities in a timely, accurate manner, and may be cross-trained or assigned additional accounting responsibilities in Loan Servicing Accounting and General Accounting. Plaza has an industry-specific accounting system, stand-alone A/R in QuickBooks and utilizes excel extensively for importing, exporting and reconciling invoices and data.  Incumbent needs to be adaptable and be skilled to work with multiple independent software systems/programs.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the Supervisor. Job duties may change as required by needs of company. Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
 
Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of any or all of the following:
  • Vendor A/P invoices, to include review for accuracy and proper approval and A/P system entry
  • Electronic invoices, to include review for accurate distribution, proper approval, and A/P system uploads
  • Associate expense reports
  • FHA/VA/MIP fees per loan
  • Timely and accurate A/R billing entries
  • Periodic A/R aging review and follow up for collections, net funding or other resolution
  • Accurate processing of daily wires to internal or external bank accounts and of bi-weekly check-ins
  • Month-end processing, to include invoice tracking and accruals.
  • Provide customer service to vendors, branch managers and account executives regarding A/P and/or AR issues.
  • Scanning documentation for record retention.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High  school diploma or equivalent; AA degree in Accounting a plus
  • 5+ years experience in A/R and/or A/P
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work
  • Excellent time management skills to include the ability to prioritizing work in fast-paced environment with heavy volume of transactions to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills essential including email etiquette.
  • Ability to utilize critical judgment in reviewing invoices, billings, and entries; proactively identify problems and facilitate problem resolution.
  • Solid commitment to customer and associate service
  • Proven aptitude to work in both a team and individual environment
  • Advanced proficiency with computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Internet Browsers, email functions and AP/AR systems experience
  • Ability to use a 10-key by touch
  • Strong aptitude for basic math and account reconciliation
