Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has an opportunity for a full-time Correspondent Account Executive with our National Correspondent Channel.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

The Correspondent Account Executive is responsible for the solicitation of new business for the company, development of marketing materials, and recommending the approval of new clients to the Correspondent manager. This position is also responsible for maintaining existing relationships with correspondent client production sources.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  1. Manage the Pacific Northwest region of Correspondent Clients.
  2. Perform proactive and consultative sales calls to grow volume, revenue, and overall market share.
  3. Discuss pricing comparisons and other competitive intelligence with clients.
  4. Perform cold calls to add new clients.
  5. Manage overall relationship with correspondent clients.
  6. Thoroughly train clients on Plaza’s website so as to help clients manage their own pipelines.
  7. Add value to the client base through thorough knowledge of Plaza’s products and underwriting guidelines.
  8. Daily/Weekly/Quarterly interactions with operations team in order to help facilitate a best in class client experience.
  9. Provide training of company policies and procedures, as well as current regulatory requirements.
  10. Maintain familiarity with the applicable state licensing requirements.
  11. Commitment to visit accounts monthly and quarterly while working a minimum 40 hour work week.
  12. Take applications from correspondent source clients.
  13. Assist in the development of new marketing materials and distribute materials to existing and prospective client base.
  14. Conduct on-site inspections of client’s premises and gather all applicable financials, resumes, licenses, and contract documentation for submission to senior management.
  15. Maintain contact with client base on a daily basis to solicit new business and request new loan lock-ins.
  16. Attend National and Regional Mortgage Banking Conferences throughout the year as needed.
  17. Provide training and conduct informational meetings for the client base.
  18. Establish controls to track monthly rates, lock-ins, client contacts, monies due on extended locks, and other information as required.


Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a college degree preferred
  • Five years of experience in Correspondent Lending with a track record of success in the mortgage industry
  • A current producing client base is strongly desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all company personnel and clients
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage time and prioritize work
  • Analytical skills with an aptitude for figures
  • Strong commitment to customer service with excellent client relations skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Candidate must possess a solid understanding of correspondent lending, underwriting processes and procedures, and mortgage industry standards. 
  • All Correspondent Sales Executives who will be driving on company business will be required to maintain a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a clean driving record.
